A Board Certified Behavior Analyst is...
a clinician with a graduate level certification in behavior analysis. Professionals who are certified at the BCBA level are independent practitioners who directly provide behavior analytic services or supervise others performing ABA duties. They have received supervised experience providing behavior analytic services prior to being certified and require 32 hours of continuing education, 4 of which are specific to ethics, every two years to maintain their certification. In addition, BCBAs supervise the work of Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT), and others who implement behavior-analytic interventions.
