start with an intake session to gather background information and establish client/caregiver priorities for treatment planning.  Assessment sessions are then conducted to determine an individual’s strengths and skill deficits while completing a functional assessment of problem behavior.  Following assessment, a treatment plan is developed which outlines formal strategies for minimizing problem behavior as well as responding in a functionally appropriate manner when the behavior occurs.  Protocol are also developed to teach alternative skills and improve skill deficits which will make problem behavior less likely. Training of caregivers is provided along with ongoing direct treatment and data collection/analysis until treatment objectives are achieved.  Coordination with other support persons (e.g., teachers, supervisors, job coach) and treatment in alternative settings (e.g., school, workplace) may also occur as a means of generalizing skills across environments.  All services are provided by a BCBA and focus on providing the treatment intensity necessary to effect positive behavior change.
